Category: Vessel descent

On 29 March 2018, Okskaya Sudoverf (a company of UCL Holding) will launch the first non-self-propelled tank barge of Project ROB20 (Hull No 4101).

The shipyard is building a series of ten vessels under a leasing contract signed with Sate Transport Leasing Company (STLC) on 31 October 2017. The first barge was laid down on 22 November 2017.

The barge was designed by Marine Engineering Bureau.

Non-self-propelled tank barges of Project ROB20 are intended for transportation of petroleum products with a flashpoint of 610C and above. With their double sides and double bottoms the vessels feature an improved level of environmental friendliness. The barges will be operated on the Belaya, Kama and Volga rivers.

Partners of Okskaya Sudoverf, representatives of the customer and Navashino citizens are invited to participate in the ceremony.

Vladimir Kulikov, Director General of Okskaya Sudoverf JSC, comments:

— In many respects, the construction of a ROB20 barges series is a breakthrough project for Okskaya Sudoverf. For the first time it has built a vessel of this width – 22.80 meters.  The width of the barge caused implementation of a package of measures required for its launching. Fixed-site scaffolding was disassembled to provide more construction space along the northern and southern threads of the slipway. The layout of hulls was revised at the construction site to ensure availability of more slipway threads. I think the personnel of the company has got the things done successfully having confirmed its high professionalism once again.
